Footbeen ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Footbeen mobile application and the footbeen.com website (the "Service"), how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in via Apple or Google, your name as provided by those services. You may also set a username, display name, bio, favorite club, profile visibility, plans visibility, and profile photo within the app.

Newsletter and product updates. If you join the Footbeen email list on our website, we collect your email address, the page where you signed up, the consent text shown at signup, and basic technical details such as browser user agent and referrer. We use this only for occasional Footbeen updates, guides, and product news.

Match, stadium, and social activity. When you mark a match as attended, plan a future match, follow another user, accept or decline a match invite, tag companions, or use social features, we store the related match, stadium, club, date, relationship, visibility, and activity data needed to provide those features.

Uploaded photos, media, and memories. If you add match-memory photos, profile photos, captions, comments, ratings, notes, or other media, we store that content and associated metadata such as upload time, related match or stadium, sort order, and account ownership. User-uploaded match-memory photos may appear in app surfaces such as your profile, match pages, stadium pages, or galleries according to your profile visibility and the feature's privacy rules. We do not currently use user-uploaded match-memory photos in public blog or social media marketing unless a future explicit approval and moderation flow allows it.

Club preferences. You may select a favorite club ("my club"). This is stored with your profile to personalize your experience.

Device information. We automatically collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes.

Firebase Analytics — We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, including screen views and feature usage events. Firebase may collect device identifiers and IP addresses. Firebase Privacy

Firebase Crashlytics — We use Crashlytics to collect crash reports, which include device information, app state at the time of a crash, and stack traces. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Firebase Privacy

Mapbox — We use Mapbox to display maps in the app. When you view the map, Mapbox may collect telemetry data such as your approximate location and device information. Mapbox Privacy Policy

5. Visibility, Public Display, and Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share data with service providers when needed to operate, secure, analyze, host, store, or improve the Service.

Your profile visibility and plans visibility settings affect what other users can see. Public profile surfaces may display your username, display name, avatar, favorite club, selected stats, recent match or stadium activity, and recent uploaded match-memory photos where the feature allows it. Private profiles limit detailed profile surfaces, but may still show a basic profile shell so other users can recognize you for social features.

Some Footbeen content is intended for public display, such as public profile pages, shared cards, leaderboards, public app links, and website or app previews. If you choose to share a card, profile, or public link outside Footbeen, people who receive it may save, repost, or copy it outside our control.

6. Data Retention, Deletion, and Takedown

We retain your account data, match visit history, profile content, uploaded photos/media, and related metadata for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete specific content, request removal, or delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days where practical, except where we need to retain it for legal, security, backup, audit, moderation, fraud-prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.

Deleted photos or media may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, caches, moderation records, or places where they were already shared before deletion. Newsletter signup records are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication flows, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Footbeen is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means.
