Footbeen ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Footbeen mobile application and the footbeen.com website (the "Service"), how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in via Apple or Google, your name as provided by those services. You may also set a display name and profile photo within the app.
Match and stadium visits. When you mark a match as attended, we store which match you visited, the associated stadium, and the date. This data forms the core of your Footbeen profile.
Club preferences. You may select a favorite club ("my club"). This is stored with your profile to personalize your experience.
Device information. We automatically collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes.
2. Authentication
We offer three ways to sign in:
- Apple Sign In — We receive your name and email (or a relay email if you choose to hide it) from Apple.
- Google Sign In — We receive your name and email from Google.
- Email OTP — You enter your email and we send a one-time passcode. No password is stored.
Authentication is managed through Supabase Auth. We do not store your Apple or Google passwords.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Service, including storing your match visits and displaying your map and statistics
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
- Improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics
- Diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
- Communicate with you about your account or the Service when necessary
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
Supabase — Cloud database and authentication. Your account data, match visits, and stadium visits are stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Supabase Privacy Policy
Firebase Analytics — We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, including screen views and feature usage events. Firebase may collect device identifiers and IP addresses. Firebase Privacy
Firebase Crashlytics — We use Crashlytics to collect crash reports, which include device information, app state at the time of a crash, and stack traces. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Firebase Privacy
Mapbox — We use Mapbox to display maps in the app. When you view the map, Mapbox may collect telemetry data such as your approximate location and device information. Mapbox Privacy Policy
5. Data Sharing and Selling
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share data with the third-party service providers listed above, solely to operate the Service.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data and match visit history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete — Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export — Request an export of your data in a portable format.
- Correct — Update your profile information directly in the app.

8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication flows, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Footbeen is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
